The President of NAMA, Jayarajan Kodikannath, BSc, BAMS, AD, will host a series of candid and casual conversations of the brightest and best news in our Ayurveda community.

These 45 min sessions will cover the history and growth of NAMA, the profession, our membership, the volunteers, education, certification levels and you, the practitioner!. We will allow an additional 15 min of Q/A. 

These topics are coming your way that include:

  • Ayurveda in the USA - What have we achieved together in the last two decades?

  • The role of Board Certification, Accreditation and Licensing in advancing the Ayurvedic Profession in the US.

  • Ayurvedic community and membership participation  ~ Why students, professionals, and organizations of Ayurveda choose to be a member of NAMA? 

  • The key role of State Organizations in the progress of the Ayurveda Profession in the US.

This year, the conversations will be held on July 31, August 21, September 18 and October 30, at 5 PM PT. Come and join us to learn who we are, where we came from, where we are going and how NAMA can serve you.

NAMA Professional members can receive one (1) PACE credit for attending each LIVE conversation in its totality. You can only receive PACE credit if you attend a LIVE SESSION. If you are a professional member and would like to receive one PACE credit for attending each session, please make sure to include your membership number in the registration form.  

How to Join Us? 

To join us for this conversation series, you will need to complete two steps. 

  1. First, you will click on the link below for the session that you want to register; the link will take you to our Member Portal where you can complete the registration for the event. 

  2. Once you have registered, you will receive a confirmation email with a link to register for the Zoom session. After completing this second step, you will receive a confirmation email from Zoom with the link to access the event you selected.

  3. You will need to complete both steps in order to be able to join each session.

Cynthia Copple

Founding Board Member of NAMA

Cynthia Copple, Certified Ayurvedic Practitioner with over 40 years of clinical experience, is co-founder and past president of NAMA. She is currently a member of the NAMACB. She is co-founder and past Dean of Mount Madonna Institute College of Ayurveda. She is the author of Know Your Blueprint: The Ayurvedic Secret To Restoring Your Vitality in 30 Days. She has been Director of Lotus Holistic Health Institute in Capitola, CA since 1982. In 1982  Professor R.P. Trivedi gave her the mission of bringing Ayurveda to the West and since she has been practicing Ayurveda the longest of anyone trained in the US, she has been called the Mother of Ayurveda in the West.

John Kepner, MA, MBA, C-IAYT

Executive Director Emeritus, IAYT

John served as the executive director of the International Association of Yoga Therapists (IAYT) from 2003 -2020.  During that time period, IAYT and NAMA worked hand in hand to help each other with just about everything, including the standards process, conferences, websites, and promoting each other’s conferences.

Ayurveda in the USA - Why is Board Certification and Accreditation in Ayurveda Important?

Lisa Cavallaro, PsyD, C-IAYT

Executive Director, Ayurvedic Accreditation Commission

Dr. Cavallaro is a licensed psychologist and holds a doctorate degree in clinical psychology. She specializes in health psychology and behavioral medicine and is the former program director of a multidisciplinary wellness program within a regional medical center. In addition to her 25 years of private practice, Lisa has taught masters and doctoral graduate courses in psychology and facilitated many educational and support groups.  

Dr. Cavallaro previously served as an accreditation specialist with the International Association of Yoga Therapists and has participated in accreditation reviews in academic and medical settings.  She is also credentialed as a certified yoga therapist (C-IAYT) through the International Association of Yoga Therapists.

Dr. Suhas Kshirsagar BAMS, MD (Ayurveda)

Dr. Suhas is a classically trained Ayurvedic Physician with over 32 years of Clinical Experience.

He is a Best-Selling Author, Motivational Speaker and an acclaimed Educator in the field of Ayurveda & Integrative Medicine. He has traveled around the globe popularizing Ayurveda, Yoga, Meditation & Natural Medicine. Dr. Suhas is a sought-after Educator in the field of Ayurveda and has started numerous schools and designed curriculums for various Universities.

Sivarama Prasad Vinjamury, MD (AYU), MAOM, MPH

Chair, NAMACB

Professor of Research and Director of Capstone Research at SCU

Prasad is the Chair of the NAMACB and currently working as a Professor at SCU, Whittier, California teaching traditional Chinese medicine and Ayurveda. He also provides acupuncture and Ayurveda medicine services at the University Health Center, Whittier. Dr. Vinjamury has over thirty years in clinical experience in integrating Ayurveda, traditional Chinese medicine, and western diagnostic methods to evaluate, assess, and manage patients.

In addition to his teaching and clinical services, he is also deeply involved in clinical research in complementary and integrative medicine (CIM). He has been a Principal Investigator of studies on Fibromyalgia, Hypertension, Insomnia, Cancer and Osteoporosis. He has presented papers on various subjects in several national and international conferences and also published many articles on CIM topics in peer-reviewed journals. He was awarded a Young Investigator Award for his work on Cancer Research in the year 2007 by the Society for Acupuncture Research (SAR). Prasad also serves as a peer-reviewer for several integrative medicine journals and is on the Editorial Board on three of these journals. Recently, he served as an expert for WHO for developing benchmarks for Ayurveda practice and education. He is also actively involved in American Public Health Association as the past chair of Integrative Complementary and Traditional and Health Practices (ICTHP) section and advocates for TCM, Ayurveda and other integrative therapies.

Jaspreet Kaur, M.D., IFMCP, AHC

Jaspreet Kaur, MD, IFMCP, AHC, is currently the CEO of Seva Health. She was on the board of Mission Health Network, which is a 500 + physician network for ten years. She has also held a faculty position at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, where she was involved in teaching of medical residents.

With 25 years of clinical experience, Dr. Kaur is a firm believer in a holistic approach to medicine which combines Ayurveda, functional medicine, and integrative practices. She practices with individualized, patient-centered care, driven to find the underlying root-cause of ailments. Dr. Kaur integrates cutting-edge research with the timeless wisdom of Ayurveda to provide comprehensive care for all, with a special interest in treating autoimmune and chronic conditions.

Chandanni Miglino, CAP

Chandanni Miglino, CAP is a lifestyle expert, public speaker and CEO/Founder of Chandanni Organic and co-founder of the Chandanni Scholarship fund (www.chandannischolarshipfund.org), a not-for-profit company that provides travel, mindfulness and diversity experiences for students. She’s highly experienced in health lifestyle and sustainability practices. She published the yoga magazine Common Ground - San Francisco and managed and co-owned Golden Bridge-LA, one of the largest yoga studios in the country. A graduate from UC Berkeley with a bachelor’s degree in Architecture, she currently speaks across the world on biohacking, Ayurveda and integrated wellness. 


Arun Deva, CAP, AYT, C-IAYT, ER500

Arun Deva, CAP, AYT, C-IAYT, ER500 is a past NAMA Board Member and a NAMA member since 2012. He was also chair of the NAMA-AYT subcommittee and a long time member of the Standards Committee. He is currently semi-retired and on the lecture trail. www.yogarasayana.com

Madison Madden, AD

Madison is an Ayurvedic Doctor (A.D.) member of NAMA, Panchakarma Practitioner, Sustainability Activist, and the author of the best-selling book Mind Body Food. She is the Chair of NAMA’s State Association Subcommittee, and has sat on the Board of Directors of Pacific Coast Community Acupuncture since 2015. She is a regular lecturer and workshop leader, and lives in Golden, Colorado.

CAAM President Mamta Landerman CAS PKS

Mamta Landerman C.A.S. P.K.S. is a Clinical Ayurveda and Pancha Karma Specialist, a Vedic Astrologer, and a Life Coach. She also teaches Ayurveda and Jyotisha. She has been practicing Transformational Healing in various disciplines for the last 40 years. Mamta is the Founding President and once again the current President of The California Association of Ayurvedic Medicine (CAAM) since 2018

She produced the First International Ayurveda Conference in the US in 2001at U.C. Berkeley. This brought together Ayurvedic practitioners, suppliers and teachers from across the nation, which seeded New Ayurveda Clinics, Educational Institutions, Integrative Practices, Ayurveda Spas and Ayurveda Supplier networking opportunities.

CAAM was very instrumental under her Presidency in getting the Health Freedom Bill SB577passed in the California Legislature and now provides an affordable Malpractice Insurance for Ayurveda Professionals in California.
