Membership Benefits

Education

NAMA is committed to establishing and maintaining the highest Ayurvedic education standards. The highest standards are a necessary step for the recognition and acceptance of the Ayurvedic profession and Ayurveda as a healing art. A core part of NAMA’s educational effort involves requiring that NAMA’s Ayurvedic professionals have met established educational competencies. NAMA maintains the Professional Ayurvedic Continuing Education (PACE) Program to support the continued development of its professional members. PACE resources include a substantial library of courses, including previously recorded Seminars in Ayurveda.

Credentials

NAMA Professional Members are Certified Ayurvedic Health Counselors, Certified Ayurvedic Practitioners and Ayurvedic Doctor professionals. PACE course providers promote their continuing education courses as NAMA-recognized.

Visibility

Professional Members are listed in a searchable public directory in the Find an Ayurveda Professional platform. Every Professional Member can build a robust online profile with the capability to upload photos, files and other documents that promote your services. Additionally, AAC-recognized schools and continuing education providers are promoted as providing professional level training.

Publications

Regular communications are sent to members keeping them informed of topics of interest, such as: continuing education opportunities, conference, leading-edge articles about the current state of Ayurvedic research and practice, and the newest member developments.

Current News and Events

NAMA is constantly providing information to its members and the public at large in its current news section of the website. NAMA also provides free Seminars in Ayurveda each month and a full library of past seminars in Ayurveda to its members.

Advocacy

Your membership directly supports NAMA’s mission to preserve, protect, promote and advance the consciousness-based philosophy, knowledge, science and practice of Ayurveda for the benefit of all beings. As an IRC § 501(c)(6) corporation, NAMA relies on significant volunteer engagement with limited paid staff.

Governance

As a member, you have the opportunity to participate in the governance of the association by participating in committees, voting during annual board elections, and working to shape the federal and state policies that govern the practice of Ayurveda in the U.S.
