The 2025 call for presenters for the National Ayurvedic Medical Association (NAMA) 21st Annual Conference "The Pursuit of Longevity: Ayurveda for the Digital Age" is now open!

As modern society navigates the growing challenges of achieving longevity and healthy aging, the 2025 NAMA Conference, taking place May 2nd - 4th, 2025 in Irving, Texas will provide a unique opportunity to explore how Ayurveda’s ancient wisdom can guide us toward a more vibrant future in today’s modern world.

NAMA welcomes multiple proposal submissions, from members and non-members, that will share insights on how Ayurveda, combined with cutting-edge digital advancements, can support longer, healthier lives. To be considered, please submit your proposal using the form provided by Monday, December 16, 2024, by 11:59 PM PT.

Submissions for the 2025 NAMA Conference “The Pursuit of Longevity: Ayurveda for the Digital Age” are encouraged to fit within three overarching areas in supporting the theme:

  • Integrating Technology and how technological advancements can enhance the practice and global reach of Ayurveda; 

  • Sustainable Practices focusing on eco-friendly, sustainable approaches in Ayurveda and indigenous medicine that promote longevity; and 

  • Interdisciplinary Integration highlighting collaborations with healthcare professionals to provide holistic, integrative care for graceful aging. 

When submitting a conference programming proposal, presenters are required to choose one of the following seven categories:

  • Proposals that explore allied sciences such as Yoga, Jyotish, Vastu, and others that complement Ayurveda in promoting holistic well-being and focus on practical and therapeutic applications of these ancient sciences to enhance physical, mental, and emotional health in today’s world.

    1. Yoga as Therapy for the Digital Age: proposals should focus on the therapeutic potential of yoga, pranayama, and other yogic practices in addressing modern challenges, such as stress, digital fatigue, and the physical toll of constant connectivity and highlight how yoga supports healthy aging, enhances vitality, and mitigates the effects of repetitive strain from technology use. Special emphasis can be placed on specific practices that help restore balance in our hyperconnected, fast-paced lives.

    2. Jyotish and Health: Explore how Jyotish (Vedic astrology) can provide insights into personal health and wellness patterns, offering predictive tools for managing health challenges. Present how Jyotish can support individuals in making lifestyle choices that align with their unique constitution and planetary influences.

    3. Vastu for Harmonious Living: proposals will examine how Vastu (the science of architecture) can create balanced living and working environments that promote health, happiness, and overall well-being and may focus on the connection between physical space and mental/emotional health, offering practical tips on integrating Vastu principles into daily life.

  • Proposals that focus on the ancient Ayurvedic detoxification techniques, including Panchakarma, to support long-term health, prevent lifestyle diseases, and promote rejuvenation, and explore the multifaceted benefits of detoxification therapies and their relevance in today’s fast-paced, stress-filled world.

    1. Ayurvedic Detoxification for Longevity: Dive into the profound impact of Ayurvedic detoxification methods, with a special focus on Panchakarma, to promote longevity, vitality, and overall wellness. Topics may include:

    2. Panchakarma Therapies: Provide an in-depth exploration of Panchakarma’s five core therapies, which aim to remove deep-seated toxins, balance the doshas, and rejuvenate the body from within. Discuss how Panchakarma serves as a preventive tool against lifestyle diseases such as diabetes, cardiovascular conditions, and digestive disorders.

    3. Personalized Detox Programs: Highlight the importance of tailoring detoxification programs to each individual’s constitution (Prakriti) and current state of imbalance (Vikriti). Proposals may include case studies showing how customized Panchakarma treatments can restore balance and vitality.

    4. The Role of Rasayanas in Post-Detox Rejuvenation: Examine how rejuvenative therapies, known as Rasayanas, are integrated post-detox to rebuild tissue, boost immunity, and enhance mental clarity. Explore specific Rasayanas used to restore vitality and promote long-term well-being after detoxification.

    5. Detoxification in the Digital Age: Discuss how Ayurvedic detoxification practices are more relevant than ever in today’s world, where stress, pollution, poor diet, and constant digital exposure contribute to toxin accumulation. Presentations should explore how detoxification can help mitigate the effects of modern living and rejuvenate both body and mind.

    6. Scientific Insights into Ayurvedic Detox: Delve into modern research supporting Ayurvedic detox practices, showcasing evidence of their efficacy in improving metabolic health, enhancing detox pathways, and supporting longevity.

  • Proposals that explore the intersection of Ayurveda, business, and technology, offering practical insights for Ayurvedic practitioners looking to thrive in the digital age focusing on how practitioners can modernize their operations while staying true to Ayurvedic principles. Key topics include:

    1. Adapting Business Practices: Explore how Ayurvedic professionals can navigate the complexities of modern business, covering areas such as ethics, licensing, legal regulations, and health insurance. Presentations may also address the growing demand for herbal products, ethical distribution methods, and strategies for building sustainable business models.

    2. Technology Integration: Discuss how technology can support and enhance Ayurvedic practices. This could include the development of online courses, creating telehealth platforms that are HIPAA-compliant, and leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) for personalized wellness plans and diagnostics. Proposals that highlight how technology can expand client reach while maintaining the integrity of Ayurvedic care are highly encouraged.

    3. Marketing for Modern Practitioners: Explore effective marketing strategies for Ayurvedic practitioners in the digital space. Topics may include building a strong online presence, utilizing social media platforms, creating engaging content, and implementing SEO practices to reach wider audiences.

  • Proposals that showcase Ayurvedic interventions and their clinical outcomes in addressing key public health challenges and lifestyle diseases, and highlight evidence-based Ayurvedic approaches that offer both preventive and therapeutic insights.

    1. Cancer Treatment & Recovery: Explore how Ayurveda supports cancer prevention, recovery, and palliative care by improving quality of life, boosting immunity, and alleviating side effects during conventional treatments.

    2. Bone & Joint Health: Highlight holistic Ayurvedic strategies for improving bone and joint health, with a focus on conditions like osteoporosis, arthritis, and age-related degeneration through diet, herbal treatments, and therapeutic exercises.

    3. Lifestyle Diseases and Chronic Conditions: Examine how Ayurveda addresses rising conditions like diabetes, obesity, and heart disease through preventive and therapeutic approaches, palliative support, and recovery plans involving diet, lifestyle modifications, and herbal therapies.

    4. Gut Health: Delve into Ayurveda’s understanding of digestive health and its connection to mental well-being, immunity, and longevity, focusing on the gut-brain relationship and practical Ayurvedic interventions.

    5. Digital Health Stress Management: Consider how Ayurveda can mitigate the impact of technology use on family well-being, addressing issues such as sleep disturbances, screen addiction, and mental health challenges.

    6. Infertility and Reproductive Health: Ayurvedic approaches to boosting fertility and addressing reproductive health issues for both men and women.

    7. ADHD and Autism: Discuss how Ayurveda, including diet, herbal remedies, and lifestyle modifications, can support children and adults with ADHD, autism, and other neurodevelopmental conditions.

  • Proposals that explore the intersection of Ayurvedic herbal medicine, agricultural practices, and environmental sustainability, and highlight how Ayurveda’s time-tested approach to herbal remedies can promote longevity while embracing eco-friendly practices that protect the planet.

    1. Herbal Medicine for Longevity: Delve into the Ayurvedic herbs and formulations renowned for their rejuvenative and life-promoting properties. This category will explore both traditional wisdom and modern scientific research behind key Ayurvedic herbs, focusing on their role in enhancing vitality, reducing inflammation, and supporting healthy aging. Topics may include:

      • Adaptogens and Anti-Inflammatories: Explore Ayurvedic adaptogens such as Ashwagandha and Brahmi, alongside powerful anti-inflammatory herbs like Turmeric and Guggulu, and their impact on stress reduction, mental clarity, and physical resilience.

      • Rasayanas (Rejuvenative Herbs): Discuss rejuvenative herbs, including Amalaki and Shatavari, that support cellular regeneration, immune function, and overall longevity, while improving quality of life as individuals age.

    2. Sustainable Agricultural Practices: Address the importance of sustainable agriculture in sourcing Ayurvedic herbs, with a focus on ethical harvesting, organic farming practices, and protecting biodiversity. Presentations may cover the integration of Ayurvedic and indigenous herbs in sustainable models for herbal production.

    3. Environmental Responsibility in Ayurveda: Highlight ways in which Ayurvedic practitioners and farmers can collaborate to minimize the environmental impact of herbal medicine production, promoting practices that benefit both human health and the environment.

  • Proposals that explore the integration of Ayurvedic principles and practices with modern healthcare disciplines and focus on how Ayurveda can complement and enhance the effectiveness of conventional medical fields, creating a more holistic and patient-centered approach to care. Presenters are encouraged to share practical examples and case studies that highlight successful collaborations between Ayurveda and other healthcare professions.

    1. Ayurveda and Modern Medicine: Discuss how Ayurvedic practices such as personalized diet, herbal treatments, and lifestyle modifications can be effectively integrated into conventional medical treatments to improve patient outcomes. This may include collaborations between Ayurvedic practitioners and physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers in managing chronic diseases, recovery, and prevention.

    2. Ayurveda and Nursing: Explore how Ayurvedic therapies can support nursing care by providing alternative methods for pain management, stress relief, and immune support. Proposals may focus on how nurses can incorporate Ayurvedic techniques such as massage, aromatherapy, or dietary guidance into patient care routines.

    3. Ayurveda and Nutrition: Highlight how Ayurvedic dietary principles align with modern nutritional science, emphasizing the importance of personalized nutrition. Case studies can demonstrate how Ayurvedic dietary recommendations have been integrated into conventional nutrition plans to support specific conditions such as diabetes, heart disease, and digestive disorders.

    4. Ayurveda and Physical Therapy: Delve into how Ayurvedic therapies such as Abhyanga (oil massage), Marma therapy, and specific yoga postures can complement physical therapy, speeding up recovery from injury, reducing inflammation, and improving mobility. Presenters are encouraged to share real-world examples of integrated treatment plans for musculoskeletal issues.

    5. Ayurveda and Mental Health: Explore how Ayurvedic techniques such as meditation, pranayama, and herbal remedies can support mental health professionals in addressing conditions like anxiety, depression, and burnout. Proposals can discuss how mental health practitioners can collaborate with Ayurvedic experts to create holistic treatment plans that encompass both mind and body healing.

    6. Case Studies for Collaborative Models: Present case studies that showcase successful interdisciplinary collaborations between Ayurvedic practitioners and professionals from other healthcare fields. Highlight how these partnerships can provide comprehensive, patient-centered care that addresses both physical and emotional well-being.

  • Veda Talks offers a short, engaging format inspired by TED Talks, featuring passionate speakers delivering dynamic presentations on a wide range of Ayurvedic topics. These talks are designed to captivate the audience, spark new ideas, and inspire with personal stories of transformation through Ayurveda.

    1. Ayurvedic Innovations: Present groundbreaking ideas, emerging trends, or new perspectives on how Ayurveda can meet modern health challenges. These talks should be concise, impactful, and thought-provoking.

    2. Personal Journeys with Ayurveda: Share personal stories of transformation and healing through Ayurveda. Presenters are encouraged to bring authenticity and emotion to their stories, showing how Ayurveda has made a difference in their lives or the lives of others.

    3. Practical Ayurvedic Wisdom: Offer practical takeaways that attendees can immediately apply in their personal lives or professional practices. Whether it’s a quick guide to Ayurvedic self-care or an inspiring wellness tip, these talks should leave the audience with actionable insights.

    4. Engaging Storytelling: Presenters should use storytelling techniques to connect with the audience, keeping the talks engaging and accessible. Each presentation should inspire curiosity and open the door for deeper exploration of Ayurvedic principles.


Submission Process

When submitting your proposal, you will need to provide the following information in the NAMA portal:

  1. Select one category from the seven categories listed above.

  2. Title of your presentation. The title will be showcased in the conference program. Once the title is submitted no changes are allowed. 

  3. Presenter’s first and last name. 

  4. Credentials if applicable. 

  5. Presenter’s email address.

  6. Professional headshot (.JPEG or .PNG).

  7. Resume/CV (.pdf). Please name the file as follows: [Last Name]_Resume.pdf (e.g., Gupta_Resume.pdf).

  8. Professional biography (50-word maximum).

  9. Submit your abstract (650-word maximum) with the following for your presentation, structured as follows: 

    • 1 - Title

    • 2 - Objective

    • 3 - Methodology (if applicable)

    • 4 - Results

    • 5 - Conclusions

    • 6 - References (if applicable)

    • The Veda Talks do not require methodology, results, or references.

  10. Agree to the following terms pending acceptance of your proposal: 

    • You will be required to read, accept, and sign a presenter’s agreement by December 15, 2024.

    • You must commit to attending and presenting in person at the 2025 NAMA conference.

    • You agree to use the provided NAMA slide template and submit your completed slides to your assigned moderator by April 5, 2025. Further details on slide submission will be provided in presenter training.

    • You agree to purchase a 2025 NAMA Conference pass at a discounted rate.

    • Details on your specific session will be provided after all submissions have been reviewed.
