Students learn the causes of disease, six stages of disease manifestation, disease pathways, classification of diseases, and signs and symptoms of disease. Students learn how to distinguish the disease from its symptoms and prioritize treatment protocols.

Course Objective
1. Compare and contrast the three bala dosha. 2. Explain the four major causes of disease and give examples of each. 3. Classify the samprapti of a disease. 4. Summarize the sat kriya kala and give examples of each stage. 5. Reframe roga marga to explain how the disease process proceeds. 6. Categorize the signs of kshaya and vriddhi by dosha, dhatu, mala. 7. Give examples of symptoms of srotas dushti. 8. Explain the major principles of chikitsa.
