Chittodvega (Anxiety) Then and Now

September 28, 2020 with Sujatha Reddy, AD, MSE

Our exploration of chittodvega (anxiety) will draw from the Charaka Samhita, the work of Sushruta, and The Polyvagal Theory by Steven Porges. Chittodvega as a psychological and physiological state is characterized by cognitive, somatic, emotional, and behavioral components. We will explore the Ayurvedic principle of “like increases like and opposites balance” as the key to reducing anxiety and restoring balance to the manovaha srotas.
