News From Ayurvedic Yoga Therapy Committee

Greetings practitioners:

We would like to formally announce that the grandparenting period for AYT-NAMA will be extended through March 31, 2019. There will be no additional extensions after this one. If you are a Professional Member with yoga therapy skills and experience, please click here for information on how to apply.

Attention NAMA-Recognized Schools:

The School Applications Form for AYT-NAMA programs will be published on or before February 23, 2019. We will then begin accepting school applications to teach this highly specialized curriculum, merging the disciplines of Ayurveda and yoga therapy. NAMA-recognized schools and AYTs with AYT-NAMA recognition that wish to offer an AYT training program are encouraged to apply. Schools and AYTs that have earned this designation deserve our congratulations. These providers have undergone a rigorous review process that ensures students can look to them for the highest level of dedication to and skill in this emerging field. Please click here to refer to our Entry Points document, which will help determine the duration and nature of the programs that providers may elect to offer.

Attention AYT Professionals or Students of NAMA-Recognized Schools:

We are concurrently looking for volunteers to add to our committee as we will soon begin reviewing AYT educational program applications, as well as continuing our professional discipline development work.  All volunteers on the AYT Committee must be NAMA-recognized AYT professionals or students in NAMA-recognized AYT programs.

We are honored to have served as stewards of this emerging professional designation, and we are thrilled that new educational programs will begin offering this credential very soon.  As NAMA continues to grow,  we will persevere with our efforts to elevate the knowledge base of Ayurvedic Yoga Therapy. As members of the NAMA community and potential AYTs, please feel free to reach out to us with comments or questions on the grandparenting process, school applications, the development of the discipline, the AYT scope of practice, or our future plans. We look forward to being of service.
