Course Description
This course explores the concepts of Ayurveda Biology, Physics, Anatomy and Physiology and applies and relates them to the Western approach to the body-mind complex. Students study Embryology inlight of the disease process and the susceptibility of the embryo during the whole of pregnancy. Students revisit the interdependency of trisharira and panchakosha and view the formation of the human body in light of the tattvas, tanmatras and pancha mahabhutas.

Course Objective
Subdivide the mind-body complex into trishariras, pancha koshas, prana vayus, doshas, subdoshas, trigunas & vimshati gunas. ● Explain how the physical body works through the subtle body: eka dhatu purusha via chaturvinshatika purusha (tattwas) ● Connect the formation of the septa dhatus with the upadhatus and malas. ● Explain the relationship of dosha-dhatu-mala sharira for roga nidana/diagnosis. ● Illustrate the relationship of the tattwas specifically the transition from tanmatras to panchamahabhutas (signature assignment). ● Name the six factors which influence the growth of an embryo. ● Outline the formation of garbha sharira by month and the relationship to disease formation. ● Name the organs that are the mula of each srotas.
