ADVANCED TRACK – As the overuse of opioids to manage pain has reached crisis proportions in this country, pain management has become one of the hottest medical issues of our time. At this point, research into natural approaches to pain management and ready access to methods and professionals that can help should be critical medical priorities. Ayurveda and yoga provide unique, time-tested approaches to managing this condition, and both of these ancient disciplines are poised to become part of the solution to this modern crisis.

Sivarama 'Prasad' Vinjamury, BAMS MD (Ayu), MAOM, MPH: Prasad is an Ayurvedically trained physician and a licensed acupuncturist, currently working as a Professor and Director of Capstone Research at the SCUHS, Whittier, CA. He is involved in integrative health research on pain in conditions such as fibromyalgia and cancer.

Chinnamasta Stiles, C-IAYT, AYT-NAMA, LN, LMT, CAHC: Chinnamasta is an IAYT, NAMA-AYT, LN, LMT, and Director of Shiva Shakti Loka in San Francisco. She has been teaching internationally and guiding people in their multidimensional healing for over 25 years. She merges Ayurveda, yoga, and tantra in her work.

Priyanka is a BAMS, MS, Ph.D., AD: Priyanka is a BAMS, MS, Ph.D., AD, is a staunch believer of in a translational medicine approach using integrated systems to address current health challenges. As a physician researcher, she focuses on infectious and autoimmune diseases.

Panel Moderator: Dhaval Dhru, MD, AD: Dhaval is an Ayurvedic and yoga practitioner, consultant, and educator in Seattle. A retired ENT surgeon and retired Associate Professor and Chair, Department of Ayurvedic Sciences, Bastyr University, Kenmore, WA, he has served on the NAMA Board since 2012.
