The human gut microbiome is in constant flux. The composition of the human gut microbiome is influenced by many environmental factors. The unique mix of species found in the body changes according to what we eat, where we live,how much we exercise,how much active we are socially, and even how much time we spend outdoors in the sun. Ayurveda has depicted various rules and regimens (Charya),regarding diet and behavior to acclimatize seasonal enforcement easily without altering body homeostasis. NAMA is hosting a one-day event to spread the beauty of Ayurveda to the public and needs member help. Will you help spread the word today? Congratulations to NAMA’s newly elected board members. They were elected by 29 percent of the membership. Your newest board members are

  • Anupama Kizhakkeveettil, BAMS, PhD, AD, MAOM, LAc, C-IAYT, AYT; elected for 2020–2023

  • Dhaval Dhru, MD, AD; elected for 2020–2023

  • Dinesh Gyawali, MA, BAMS, PhD, AD; elected for 2020–2023

  • Susan Weis-Bohlen; elected for 2020–2023

  • Raja Sivamani, MD, MS; appointed to the board to fill a vacancy until the next election

The new board members are seated November 1.

A willingness to run for NAMA’s board of directors demonstrates a tremendous commitment to NAMA and the future of Ayurvedic medicine in the U.S. and around the world.
